Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar was today conferred the prestigious membership of the Order of Australia at a function in Mumbai. The award was conferred on him by Simon Crean, Australia's Minister for Regional Australia, Regional Development and Local Government and Minister for the Arts.Earlier during her visit to India last month, Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard had announced that the iconic Indian cricketer would be conferred the honour.
