Sabir Ali has filed a defamation case against BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi for his remarks. Minutes after Ali was inducted in the BJP on Friday, Naqvi in social networking site Twitter had alleged that Sabir had links with terrorist outfit Indian Mujahideen chief Yasin Bhatkal.
Addressing a press meet in New Delhi today, Ali claimed that Naqvi's allegations against him were baseless and the BJP leader must apologize for his remarks. Ali further claimed that he has not been expelled from the BJP but his membership has been put on hold until the party completes its internal probe. Ali said, Naqvi had known him from his JD (U) days but he never raised these issues then.
