The Kerala government today said that various measures will be taken up under the Sabarimala Master Plan to ensure the saftey of pilgrims to Sabarimala. In an affidavit filed before the Kerala High Court today, the state government said a base camp will be set up at Nilakkal to regulate the flow of pilgrims and new foot overbridges will be beset up at the temple. It said steps for the crowd management as per the suggestions of the high powered committee on Sabarimala, will be completed before the next pilgrim season.The affidavit, filed by Additional Chief Secretary K Jayakumar also stated that the government will hold consultations with the National Disaster Management Agency and the State Disaster Management Cell to improve the safety measures on all trek routes to Sabarimala. The government said the crime branch investigation into the Pullumedu stampede incident is underway and a clear picture will emerge after the investigation is over.
