Sabarimala case: SC asks Delhi Police Commissioner Bassi to ensure plaintiff's safety

The Supreme Court today asked Delhi Police Commissioner B S Bassi to ensure the safety of the plaintiff in the Sabarimala case who has received death threats.<br/><br/>Naushad Ahmed Khan is one of the two lawyers who had filed a plea in the Apex Court, against the bar on women in the menstrual age group from entry in the famous Sabarimala Temple of Kerala.<br/><br/>Mr Khan told the court that he has received more than 700 telephone calls since Wednesday and expressed his desire to withdraw the case.<br/><br/>But the Supreme Court had on Friday said it was not possible to withdraw a Public Interest Litigation in this manner. The case will now come up on February 8.
