Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe today said the SAARC nations must discuss the issue of cross border terrorism and ways to fight it. <br/><br/>Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, the visiting Prime Minister said without cooperation, there is no future of SAARC. <br/><br/>Replying to a media query on Indo-Pak relations, Mr Wickremesinghe said, war is not an option. He said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken steps to defuse the tensions. Mr Wickremesinghe said, his country has also suffered from the menace of terrorism. <br/><br/>On why Sri Lanka was late in its response on holding of SAARC meet in Islamabad and was not categoric in condemning Pakistan-sponsored cross-border terrorism like Bangladesh and Afghanistan, Mr Wickremesinghe said Afghanistan and Bangladesh had a problem of their own internal security which was not the case with Sri Lanka, but Colombo did say that the atmosphere was not conducive for the meet.<br/><br/>On Sri Lanka's relationship with China, he said, ties between the two countries are economic one and not military one.<br/> <br/>Asked about the ongoing problem of fishermen between India and Sri Lanka, he said, first talks between fishermen associations on both sides will take place and later there will be joint talks soon.
