Taking potshots at Central Government, Shiv Sena mouthpiece 'Saamana' editorial today said on one hand the government seizes the houses and fields of poor farmers for non-payment of loan and on the other, does nothing when a business baron with Rs. 9000 cr loan on him runs away.

The editorial sarcastically says UPA-II implemented the programme of granting loan to Mallya and he fled the country in NDA rule. The editorial further says, if a farmer runs away, he is dragged into the jail but unfortunately law is different for people like Lalit Modi and Mallya. Some people cried foul when Modi fled country, what about Mallya fleeing now? The editorial called this a 'white collared terrorism'.

Taking a dig at the rule of law in the country, the editorial says, when the Supreme Court asked the banks about the huge loan to Mallya, the answer it got was it was due to brand value of Kingfisher. This shows how poor the economy of the country is. Didn't they know that the aircrafts never belonged to Mallya? The editorial raised questions as who helped Mallya procure Rs. 9000 crore loan, dupe the banks and then run away. It added that even a simpleton would tell that Mallya would run away with loan on him and it is surprising that the Centre did not anticipate this.
