In the wake of reports that the US is trying to support detained former Army Chief General Sarath Fonseka, Sri Lanka on Saturday said it does not believe that Washington aimed at destabilising the Rajapaksa government.<br/><br/>After a meeting with US Ambassador Patricia Butenis, Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama said Sri Lanka looked forward to further strengthening of relations with Washington. <br/><br/>He said, among the matters discussed were reports inimical to the bilateral relationship carried by some sections of the Sri Lanka media.<br/>
