S. Korea's Lee urges north to seize good chance

South Korea's President Lee Myung-Bak has urged North Korea to seize a good chance, as the two sides prepare for talks aimed at easing months of tensions. Mr. Lee said this in a televised discussion programme today. North and South Korea have agreed to hold high-level military dialogue. Seoul has proposed holding preparatory talks on February 11. It would be their first contact since Pyongyang's deadly shelling of a border island last November. Meanwhile reports quoting a UN report say that the UN experts believe North Korea has at least one hidden nuclear site. The report relies on evidence from US scientist Siegfried Hecker who visited a secret site in November last year. He told the UN's panel of experts that the centrifuges he saw probably came from other hidden facilities. The UN's panel of experts, which assesses the sanctions regime against Pyongyang, was asked to produce the report after Mr Hecker briefed the Security Council on his visit.
