S Korean President promises to work harder for ordinary citizens after election setback

South Korean President Lee Myung-bak is promising to work harder for ordinary citizens after his ruling Grand National Party suffered an embarrassing setback in the local and parliamentary by-elections. Mr. Lee's spokesman says the president told senior party officials today that they must accept the verdict of the people gravely and fearfully. Mr. Lee said he will work harder to care for ordinary people and make sure they have jobs.
