South Korea has said hundreds of young people will join a six-day journey along its border with North Korea next week to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War. A ministry said on a Web site promoting the July 26-31 event that the 625 participants include students of various ages from South Korea and 50 others from nations that had sent troops to back the US-led UN forces fighting with South Korea during the war. The 1950-53 Korean War ended in a truce that has yet to be replaced by a peace treaty. The ministry said the participants will alternately walk and use vehicles to complete the journey, visiting sites that had once been fierce battle zones.
