S Korea says Pyongyang holds key to reopening six-party talks

South Korea says Pyongyang is holding a key to reopening six-party talks aimed at ending its nuclear programme. In a press briefing today, the foreign ministry spokesman Mr. Kim Young-sun said North Korea is holding a key and it is important that the North shows its genuine will for peace and cooperation on the Korean peninsula and also its denuclearization. In response to recent skepticism about the long-stalled talks as a viable means to achieve its goal, Mr. Kim said no party is questioning the viability of the six-party talks. His remarks came as U.S. envoy on North Korea Stephen Bosworth is scheduled to visit South Korea, China and Japan from today for four days to discuss reviving the six-party talks that the North had boycotted.
