South Korea said it has agreed to a proposal from North Korea for military talks to help defuse tension on the divided Peninsula. But the Unification ministry in Seoul today said they should include the shelling of South Korean island by the North in November and the sinking of a South Korean war ship last March. North Korea has been appealing for talks with the South since the beginning of January but the South has dismissed previous approaches as insincere.
