Russian warships drive away Dutch submarine in Mediterranean

Russian Defence Ministry says, its warships drove away a Dutch submarine to stop it spying on an aircraft carrier in the Mediterranean. Defence Ministry spokesman said, navy destroyers spotted the Walrus-class submarine while it was about 11 nautical miles away from the Admiral Kuznetsov aircraft carrier and its escorting ships. <br/><br/>Dutch Defense Ministry said in a tweet that it does not comment on operations conducted by its submarines. Russia sent a flotilla to the eastern Mediterranean ahead of an expected resumption of air strikes in Syria. Meanwhile, NATO has expressed concern, saying the move could signal an increase in the number of Russian air raids in Syria, particularly around the besieged city of Aleppo.
