Russian President orders an investigation into claims that country's athletes part of a doping programme

Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered an investigation into claims of World Anti Doping Agency (WADA) that the country's athletes have been part of a systematic doping programme. The meeting came in the wake of Monday's report by a commission of WADA alleging Russian sports being plagued by extensive state-sanctioned doping. The allegations have raised the prospect of Russia's track and field athletes being denied participation in next year's Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
