Russian President Vladimir Putin has said, Russian and other security services thwarted nearly 25 million cyberattacks linked to the World Cup.
Speaking at a meeting with the representatives of 55 intelligence units from 34 countries who worked on securing the tournament, Mr Putin said, about 25 million cyber attacks and other criminal influences on Russia's information infrastructure linked in one way or another to the FIFA World Cup were foiled during the tournament.
He, however, did not indicate who may have been behind the attacks.
