Russia ready to step up cooperation with Non Aligned Movement

Russia is ready to step up cooperation with the Non Aligned Movement towards stronger global peace and stability. Sergei Lavrov, Russian Foreign Minister said that the Non-Aligned Movement that incorporates more than half of the states in the world today is one of the major mainstreams in international affairs. He said, along with other forums and mechanisms, NAM is called upon to play a special role in determining the parameters of a new architecture for global management and finding joint answers to challenges and threats common to all countries.Welcoming the delegates of 16th Ministerial Conference and Commemorative Meeting of the 50th Anniversary of the NAM, Lavrov said, NAM has laid the foundation for a polycentric international system that is emerging now and that will be fairer and more democratic and therefore more stable. Lavrov also said the it will match the realities of the post-Cold War world.
