Russia and Italy have announced to support the new US-Afghan policy to combat extremism and militancy in Afghanistan. The support was announced at a joint news conference by the Italian Prime Minister and the Russian President in Rome. Meanwhile, Italy has announced that it will send around one thousand additional troops to Afghanistan next year. The German Parliament has approved extension of one year for its troops in Afghanistan. Poland and Albania have already agreed to send more troops to Afghanistan on US request.<br/><br/>
