In a bid the reduce the uses of LPG and make the maximum uses of garbage and manure, rural areas of Assam has adopted environment friendly biogas plants. So far, more than 88 thousand families have installed biogas facilities under the National Biogas and Manure Management Programme. The plant provides clean bio-gas fuel mainly for cooking and other purposes for reducing use of conventional fuels.
