The rupee today weakened 19 paise in afternoon trade to 74 rupees and 75 paise against the US dollar. The rupee fell amid strengthening in the US currency. The dollar index, which indicates the US dollar's strength against a basket of six other leading currencies, rose 0.06 percent to trade at 92.62 in intra-day trade.
