The Indian Rupee appreciated by 16 paise to 49 Rupees 66 paise against the US Dollar in early trade today, on sustained selling of dollars by banks and exporters, on the back of weakness of the dollar in the overseas market. The local currency had ended 19 paise higher at 49 rupees 82 paise against the dollar in yesterday's trade.
