The rupee trimmed its initial gains against the American currency but was still quoted up by two paise to 54.49 per dollar. This follows continued selling of the US currency by exporters.The rupee had gained 7 paise to close at 54.51 against the dollar on Wednesday on smart recovery in local equities and selling of the US currency by exporters
