The rupee today appreciated by 22 paise to 60.88 against the dollar in early trade at the Interbank Foreign Exchange, mainly due to dollar selling by exporters. Forex dealers said, a higher opening in the domestic equity market and a weak dollar against other overseas currencies also supported the gain in rupee. The rupee had dipped by a massive 67 paise to an all-time closing low of 61.10 against the dollar on Friday.
