Rupee strengthened by 3 paise against US dollar in early trade

The Indian rupee strengthened by 3 paise to 44 rupees 54 paise per dollar in early trade on the Interbank Foreign Exchange on Tuesday. The Indian currency was supported by dollar weakness against other Asian currencies.The rupee ended 6 paise lower at 44 rupees 58 against the US dollar in Monday's trade on account of weakness in local equities amid strengthening of the US currency overseas.
