The rupee Tuesday lost 8 paise against the dollar in early trade amid weakness in the equity markets. At the Interbank Foreign Exchange market, the domesticunit was quoted 8 paise lower at 46.57 a dollar in earlytrade. The rupee had closed higher by 34 paise at 46.50 a dollar in the previous session. Dealers said fears of capital outflows after initial selling pressure in the equity markets weighed on the rupee.
