The rupee fell by 12 paise in early trade today, to 61 rupees 86 paise against the dollar. The fall was attributed to fresh dollar demand from banks and importers, amid strengthening of the US currency overseas. In the previous session on Friday, the domestic currency had lost 24 paise to close at more than two-week low of 61 rupees 74 paise. The forex and money markets were closed yesterday on account of Diwali-Balipratipada.
