The rupee lost 10 paise to 61.64 against the US dollar in early trade today on the Interbank Foreign Exchange market due to appreciation of the American unit against other currencies overseas. Increased demand for the dollar from importers at current levels also put pressure on the rupee. The rupee had lost 2 paise to close at 61.54 in yesterday's trade against the dollar
