The rupee lost 8 paise to 61 rupees 91 paise against the dollar in early trade today due to appreciation of the US currency overseas. It had slid 8 paise to end at 61 rupees 83 paise on Friday.Meanwhile, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange rose by 209 points at 29,570 in early trade today.
