The rupee inched higher by 8 paise to 46.22 against the US dollar in early trade on Wednesday. However, dollar's gains against other major currencies were limited. At the Interbank Foreign Exchange (Forex) market, the local unit edged higher by 8 paise to 46.22 a dollar. The rupee ended 9 paise down at 46.30 in the previous session.
