The rupee appreciated by 31 paise to 44.35 rupees against the US dollar in the early trade today. It had lost 24 paise to close at 44.66 rupees against the US currency in the previous session.Forex dealers said the strengthening of rupee is on the back of fresh selling of dollars by banks and exporters due to the American currency's weakness in overseas market.
