The rupee appreciated by 25 paise to 44.90 against the US dollar at the Interbank Foreign Exchangemarket in the morning trade today. The Indian currency had ended 14 paise lower at 45.15 rupees against the US currency in the previous session. Forex traders said the rupee strengthened due to capital inflow into equities by foreign funds.
