The Indian rupee rose by 21 paise to 52 rupees 75 paise against the US dollar in early trade today. The rise was due to fresh selling of the American currency by banks and exporters, amid hopes of a resumption of foreign capital inflows in light of a rising trend in the equity market. The domestic currency had closed 24 paise lower at 52 rupees 96 paise per dollar in the previous session on Friday.
