The Indian rupee appreciated by 2 paise to 44.41 rupees per dollar in early trade on the Interbank Foreign Exchange today. The rupee had closed flat at 44.43 rupees per dollar in the previous session.Forex dealers said dollar weakness against major currencies overseas and a higher opening in the stock market mainly kept the rupee sentiment firm.
