The rupee gained 19 paise to 54 rupees 19 paise against the dollar in late morning trade today, on fresh selling of dollars by banks, on the back of weakness of dollar in overseas market.The domestic currency had lost 24 paise to close at 54 rupees 38 paise in the previous session on Tuesday. Forex and money market were closed yesterday for 'Mahavir Jayanti'.
