The Indian rupee appreciated by 19 paise to 44.01 per dollar at the Interbank Foreign Exchange today, supported by steady capital inflows and a higher opening in the stock market. The rupee had depreciated by 3 paise to close at 44.20 against the US currency in yesterday's trade.
