Rupee gains 14 paise against US dollar

The Indian rupee gained 14 paise to 45.10 rupees against the US dollar in opening trade today. Dealers said dollar weakness vis-a-vis other Asian currencies mainly kept the rupee sentiment firm, but a subdued trend in the stock markets capped the gains. The rupee had lost 44 paise to close at a seven-week low of 45.24 rupees against the US currency in the previous session.
