Recovering from initial weakness, the rupee had gained 12 paise, to 62.63 against the dollar in the late morning trade, today, on fresh selling of the US currency by banks. Earlier, in opening deals at the Interbank Foreign Exchange Market, the rupee had dropped to 62.76 per dollar, compared to yesterday's closing level of 62.75 to the dollar.
