The rupee appreciated by 12 paise to 47.00 against the US dollar in early trade.The Indian currency had closed 3 paise higher at 47.12/13 a dollar yesterday. Dealers said increased foreign fund inflows into rising equities provided support to the rupee. The dollar weakened against major Asian currencies which also strengthened the rupee sentiment.
