The Indian rupee fell by 23 paise to an early low of 52 rupees 26 paise against the US dollar today on persistent dollar demand from banks and importers, despite dollar weakness in overseas markets. In the previous session on Friday, the rupee had lost 28 paise to close at 52 rupees 4 paise per US dollar.
