The rupee today weakened marginally by two paise to close at 74 rupees and 19 paise against the US dollar.
 
Weakness in the US currency kept the rupee fall in a narrow range.
 
The dollar index, which indicates the US dollar's strength against a basket of six other leading currencies, fell 0.05 percent to trade at 91.77 in intra-day trade.
