The rupee breached the 56-mark, depreciated by 59 paise to 56 rupees, 1 paisa against the US dollar on the Interbank Foreign Exchange on high demand for the American currency from banks and importers.In opening trade the rupee had declined by 48 paise to 55 rupees, 90 paise against the dollar in early trade today. It extended losses for the fourth day in a row on the Interbank Foreign Exchange on increased demand for the American currency. The rupee had dropped 45 paise to end at 55.42 against the dollar in the previous session on Friday.
