The Indian rupee depreciated by 56 paise to 52 Rupees 31 paise against the US dollar in early trade today on sustained demand for the American currency from banks and importers on the back of a strong dollar overseas. The domestic currency had closed 4 paise lower at 51 rupees 76 paise in yesterday's trade.
