The Indian rupee weakened by 5 paise to 44.15 rupees a dollar in the early trade on Friday, weighed down by dollar's gain against other Asian currencies.In the previous season, the domestic unit at the Interbank Foreign Exchange market had risen by 41 paise to close at more than two years' high of 44.11 a dollar.
