The Indian rupee was down 3 paise at 49.46 rupees per US dollar at 1030 hours today after moving in a wide range during morning trade. The rupee opened lower at 49.59 per dollar on the Interbank Foreign Exchange due to appreciation of the US currency against other major rivals overseas and a weak trend in the domestic equity market.
