Rupee down by 3 paise against US dollar in early trade

The Indian rupee fell by 3 paise to 45 rupees 07 paise per US dollar in early trade at the Interbank Foreign Exchange today. The rupee was weighed down by gains registered by the American currency against other Asian rivals. However, a higher opening in the stock market capped the losses. The Indian currency ended 6 paise lower at 45 rupees 05 paise per US dollar in the previous session due to mild dollar demand from importers amid weak equity markets.
