The rupee trimmed its initial losses, and was trading 11 paise lower at 61 rupees 96 paise against the dollar in late morning trade today, on the month-end dollar demand from importers.The domestic currency, which closed higher by 31 paise at 61 rupees 85 paise on Friday, today opened 17 paise down at 62 rupees 02 paise.
