The rupee today lost 10 paise to 55.73 against the dollar in early trade, extending fall for the seventh straight day. The fall is attributed to higher demand for the US currency from banks and importers.The domestic currency had closed lower by four paise at fresh six-month low of 55.63 against the dollar in the previous session on Friday.
