Rupee depreciates to Rs 51/USD at 32-month low

The rupee breaches the 51 rupees per US dollar-level today to a 32-month low, on good dollar demand from banks and importers overseas.The rupee resumed lower at 50.90 rupees per dollar on the Interbank Foreign Exchange, as against yesterday's close of 50.67 rupees per dollar, and dropped further to a 32-month low of 51.01 rupees per dollar before quoting at 50.88 rupee per dollar. The rupee had last touched 51.20 rupees per dollar on March 31, 2009.The domestic currency moved in a range between 50.84 per dollar and 51.01 rupees per dollar during morning deals.
