The Indian rupee depreciated marginally by 3 paise to 44.48 rupees a dollar in the opening trade today. Forex dealers said the weaker Asian currencies against the US dollar and the month-end demand for the greenback from importers weighed down the rupee sentiment. The domestic unit had ended flat at 44.45 rupees a dollar in the previous session.
