The rupee today depreciated by 24 paise at 46.91 against the dollar in early trade amid weakness in the equity markets. The rupee had closed lower by 11 paise at 46.77/78 a dollar in the previous session on Monday.Forex dealers said apart from the weak trend on the stockmarkets, demand for the US currency from importers alsokept pressure on the rupee.
