The rupee depreciated by 14 paise against the dollar in the early trade today, as the greenback gained against major Asian currencies. At the Foreign Exchange market, the domestic unit fell by 14 paise to 44.49 Rupees a dollar following the appreciation of US dollar against the euro and other Asian currencies. The rupee had ended 23 paise higher at 44.36 rupees a dollar in the previous session.
